Eenadu was founded on the 10th of August, 1974 by Ramoji Rao. The name ‘Eenadu’ in the Telugu language translates to “This Day†or “This Countryâ€, and the newspaper is one of the most widely read regional language newspapers in all of India. Eenadu is the most widely read Telugu language newspaper in the two Telugu speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Over the years, Eenadu has grown to become nothing short of an icon of regional language journalism in India. It was also reported that Eenadu held the fourth rank among all the regional language news dailies in all of India, according to the Indian Readership Survey in the first quarter of the year 2019. Eenadu publishes several editions of the newspaper, with region-specific editions in order to cater to its respective local audiences.
